Fortuo is a dwarven cleric. A follower of Brell, his parents Burnun and Verni are paladins. Both retired from a life of adventuring they have 3 children. There's Fortuo, the middle child. Rodix, the oldest, is a member of the Stormguard. His younger brother, Yurro, is a member of the miner guild in Kaladim.
Fortuo is on a search for his older brother. Rodix left Kaladim for adventure and riches. He sent many letters home, telling of his adventures in Black Burrow, killing gnolls. And in Oasis, cutting back the tide of crocodiles that overrun the beach. The last letter they recieved from him told of his plans in The Rathe Mountains. They have heard nothing since.
Fortuo's family, The Nugghitters, are one of the richest families in Kaldim. The family patron, Fortuo's great-great-great-great grandfather, Meglik the Goblin Crusher, gained fame and notarity. Meglik was a rogue in high-standing with the Miner guild, he was well know for his raids on distant Runneye.
A while back, a goblin wizard named Nugg, had been terrorizing the butcherblock mountains. this goblin had aquired a pair of Journeyman's Boots somehow, and he'd make well exectuted attacks. Even the greatest of Kaladim's warriors couldn't catch him. Meglik happened upon Nugg attacking a young wood-elf. Nugg ran after the assault, but Meglik quickly threw a magic dagger into the wizard's back, killing him instantly.
Thus, he gained the name Nugghitter, which is the family's name now. Much wealth was aquired over the years by this adventurous family. Fortuo continues the tradition, hoping to find his brother along the way. He has joined up with the Hall of Heroes, truly, one of the greatest guilds in Norrath
